Side note and completely OT, @nomanic I'd love to see that chart go back to 1916. Post WWII America, particularly the 1950's and 1960's are NOT typical for societal standards, making that a bit of card stacking. You'd almost think the fed just threw money at the Veterans after WWII creating an artificial bubble of prosperity breaking societal norms by giving damned near every couple a house of their own.

All the data on the chart is bollox. Real figures, but their relationships are fictituious
The data is just used to show off the functions of the chart, not the data
Bascially The Heritage Foundation asked me to create a proof of concept around recreating the charts Bloomberg have on their website
I spent 2 weeks researching what framework to use to make it, realistically it was just about whether I should use SVG or HTML5
I just found some random data, the data only goes back to 1960, because thats all I found, we then had to tie them together somehow
I had just done an app on obamacare, so we related them all to obamacare, and the VP thought it was funny, so we used it!

It seemed HTML5 was supported everywhere, and utilised the GPU. That was basically why we made the decision to use HTML5 over SVG
<DmncAtrny> I will write on a huge cement block "BY ACCEPTING THIS BRICK THROUGH YOUR WINDOW, YOU ACCEPT IT AS IS AND AGREE TO MY DISCLAIMER OF ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS WELL AS DISCLAIMERS OF ALL LIABILITY, DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL, THAT MAY ARISE FROM THE INSTALLATION OF THIS BRICK INTO YOUR BUILDING."
<DmncAtrny> And then hurl it through the window of a Sony officer
      <DmncAtrny> and run like hell
