    Hi all, (please move this if I have posted this in the wrong place)

    I have recently installed a new template onto my home page. All files are .PHP

    Now in the Single post items or single.php file there is the following tag:

    <title></title>

    Between them was a default text I had to remove. So for instance when I went in a post on the home page/blog I would see that txt between the above tag.

    To get the posts title and header etc I added this:

    <title><?php bloginfo('name'); ?> &#187; <?php the_title(); ?></title>

    So you get the blog info and the post title. Would this cause any problems regarding crawlers. And most importantly is this a correct coding practice?

    All advice is very much apprictated.

    Andy

    Edit - Sorry, I have solved my issue now.

    The title tag should be in the header.php and not the single.php. Plus the tag whould be this:

    <title><?php bloginfo('name'); wp_title(); ?></title>

    This may be closed.
