Hi Guys

please tell me why i keep getting

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/httpd/vhosts/xxxxx.com/httpdocs/php/login.php on line 296

when i try to run my lofin script

Well, the error message tells you all.
You have a '$' in line 296 in your script 'login.php' and there shouldn't be any '$'.
Some space between '$' and the variable name?
Forgotten to close some brackets the line before?
Or some semikola the line before?

How the hell do you figure out we should tell you what's the mistake without showing any line of code?
In the german newsgroup dclp there was once a funny answer to some question like this, calling mod_crystalball...

piz gives good advice.
1- check for an extra "$" on line 296, or on line 295.
2- check for unclosed brackets.
3- check to make sure you weren't talking about a Dollar sign in your login script, and forgot to escape the character with a "\"
4- using the ubb [ php ] , [ /php ] tags, post the rest of your code.
