    <?php
    if(!file_exists('counter.txt')){
    file_put_co

    ntents
    ('counter.txt''0');
    }
    if(
    $_GET['click'] == 'yes'){
    file_put_contents('counter.txt', ((int) file_get_contents('counter.txt')) + 1);
    header('Location: ' $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']);
    die;
    }
    ?>
    I am trying to add a click counter to my search button. I found the code online.
    I need to add <a href="?click=yes"></a> to

    Code:
    <form id="tfnewsearch" method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search?q=<?php echo $_REQUEST['q']?>">
    <input type="text" id="tfq" class="tftextinput4" name="q" size="21" maxlength="120" <?php if(isset($_REQUEST['q'])) echo " value='{$_REQUEST['q']}'"?> autocomplete="off"  placeholder="Search Google..."><input type="submit" value="" class="tfbutton4">
    </form>

    If you are clicking links to other websites, you will have to use AJAX to process the click before redirecting to the other website.

    If you are clicking to your own pages or scripts, you do not need to use AJAX.

    Which are you doing? In your example, you are clicking to Google.
