  • outputting file to pdf.

    Hi,

    My perl script currently outputs to a web page, invoice details. I want now to make it output as a pdf file for reasons of standardisation.

    Is this module one that you are familair with? maybe there is a better one which I have ben unable to see.

    Please let me know what you think

    I'd say this PDF module looks much more promising:

    The one you mention is 9 years old and appears to be abandoned at this time. It also is not clear if it actually creates PDF file or only reads them.

      Blimey, I am long in replying to this one.

      Thanks Kevin. I'll look into that link.

        I use HTML::HTMLDoc to convert current HTML page layout to pdf. Works well for me:

        use HTML::HTMLDoc;

        my $htmldoc = new HTML::HTMLDoc();

        $htmldoc->set_page_size('letter');
        $htmldoc->set_input_file($invoiceInHTMLFormat);
        $htmldoc->set_footer('.', '.', '/');

        my $pdf = $htmldoc->generate_pdf();

        print "Content-type: application/pdf\n\n";

        print $pdf->to_string();

          Thanks, I'll look that up too now that I shall be working on it later this week.
