  • can't run iis HELP ME plz

    hi in windows7

    turned on Internet Information Services (and all its sub cathegories)
    + Internet Information Services Hostable Web Core.

    IIS Manager is running

    but i dont see any iis thing in windows Services.
    and i cant brows http://localhost or http://localhost:80

    wat sould i do

    (i run my modem admin on 192.168.1.1)

    Ummm...you can't, in general, *BROWSE* any directory unless you purposely allow browsing in IIS.

    Try creating an HTML page with file path c:\inetpub\wwwroot\test.html

    Then try hitting http://localhost/test.html

    Does that still not work??

        So did you check in the IIS control panel to be sure that indeed the default website *is* located at c:\inetpub\wwwroot? I have one system where the default website was set up in "d:\website" so that's where "http://localhost/anypage.html" would go looking.
