  • How to Turn off Hot-Linking

I just created a post that includes mention of two URLs to RSS feeds.
They don't need to be hot-linked, but I couldn't figure out how to disable the hot-linking feature.
I'm totally fine if those XML URLs are displayed as plain text.

I highlighted the text and clicked the "Unlink" button. No effect.
I deleted the text, clicked the "Unlink" button, pasted the text back in. No effect.

So, how do I post a URL in these forums and have it displayed as plain text?

    Hi there DavidB,

you could try using the BBCode for code

    Example
    Code:
    https://www.example.com

    coothead
~ the original bald headed old fart ~

There is a better BB code, and it’s called [noparse][/noparse]. Everything in between these tags should be treated as literal text. Here is the URL to the BB code reference for this website, in between “noparse” tags, to demonstrate the behavior: https://www.codingforum.net/help#bbcode_reference/bbcode_basic

Ok. That worked. I went back and edited my post. It looks a lot cleaner now. Thank-you very much!
