  • University Expirement Please Help!!

    Hi,

We have a uni assignment based i) keeping a paper-plane in the air for the longest period of time ii) making the plane travel the furthest distance from the launching point. Now the problem we are facing is that we dont know how to pop the baloons in the air after a certaind period of time (the longer the time the better, as it would allow our team to win). We cannot go to a firework shop for further assistance because they do not exist in QLD because fireworks are illegal. Could anyone recommend anything? or give as any assistance in making a wig of some sort?
We live in surfers paradise, so it would have to be somewhere local where we could go to buy the material

    It would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers

You lost me there. Where did the balloons come into this experiment?

I think I get the balloons ( they would keep it in the air longest - but I'm sure thats cheating) but where does the wig fit in?!

Using just a paper plane is a common exeriment (we did it at primary school) and I'm sure there are plenty of resources online that describe how to construct the best paper plane

you just need to get that plane inside the ISS ...
maybe contact an astronaut and instruct him how to fold the plane (no launching it required) --> http://www.arrl.org/ARISS/ariss-ap.html
Posting guidelines I use to see if I will spend time to answer your question : http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
