  • Is 2012 - The End Of The World (Coding and Life)?

    Hi Fellas,

You maybe thinking whats gone into me haha.

I am not sure if all of you has heard about this, as I was surprised when this topic fired up a few days ago while chatting on a forum that a few people where nop aware of this. As we know that some prophecies suggest that the 2012 date marks the end of the world or similar catastrophes, like the Mayan Civilization had there calendar end at 21st Dec. 2012, Nostradamus, and many other famous names suggested similar phenomenon.

Since the earth is still here, all the prophecies about the end of the world till now have failed!
But this theory about "2012 end of the world" is freaking some people out.

I was just curious to know what ya all fellows think about it?

    Is it metropolitan legend?

    Prophecy?

    SF?

Great marketing promotion of survival-kit suppliers?

    Just BS?

Found some interesting pictures and talk on other Coding and IM portals about it. I thought there could an interesting discussion at the Warrior Community and maybe get some product ideas :P

well it can end ..... or just be transform into something ....

that makes people change their principals... cause so many catastrofic, warming and IT will need just HUGE SOLAR FLARE

and it can reach the earth's atmospher and destroy its magnetic field

and from references from the BIBLE as it say all thing on earth will be end in FIRE..

SUN's activity is steadily increasing as noted by scientists from around the world.. (or could a volcano can end live on earth?)

Let's say that maybe we all have just 1 year for CODING and MONEY MAKING.....

So let's get on it and make some ...CODE and $$$$$$ MONEY!!

    So what do you think?
    Please do share you views..

I personally don't freak out, well atleast not yet, cause I am simply busy coding away... haha!

    Praney
    Peace

I haven't seen it but I hear that there was a documentary about 2012 with footage from the future. But then again the last documentary from the future hasn't come true yet, so who knows.

What do a million bucks do if the world ends and you’re dead? I’m sorry but you should really get a life (as long as time permits anyway). Money isn’t everything.
Stop solving problems you don’t yet have!

The Mayan calendar does not "end" in 2012: it simply begins a new cycle. It's a calendar. It never ends.

          Absolutely -
Any time you focus exclusively on making money and doing nothing else, that is part of your life gone. There should always be some kind of balance, and I speak as much to myself here.

Nobody knows when the world would end. But i must admit that recent events couple with my History channel addiction isn't making it easy on me.

Nostradamus is often attributed with predicting the end of the word in 2012 when, in reality, his prediction of the end of the world is for 3786 – not 2012.

Well, if you actually read those "Prophecies" they are so cryptic that a normal person wouldn't understand... This makes me think of the bible. They wrote it in latin so only the high-ranked people could read it, and told lies from it? I believe that those wacky so-called scientists don't understand it either. I think they make this up to earn money - reputation etc.

I don't believe in the worlds end in 2012... I don't believe in prophecies... I'm atheist...
To be honest I don't care. If I die, I wouldn't bother when I was dead anyway...

[EDIT] Some more evidence that this is lies:
                  - A collision with Planet X was originally predicted for May of 2003, but the collision date passed without incident. (The scientist I saw demonstrating this was using fruit attatched to sticks with strings to illustrate this... Fool?)
                  - Although the sun will enter a period of heightened solar activity at the end of 2012, this occurs every 11 years. (Remember the last solar storm? Yeah, power went in parts of US, but no armageddon if I recall...)
                  - Stanford University geophysicist Norm Sleep claims that magnetic pole shifts have occurred on Earth for millions of years and are a relatively normal process. (Supported by a lot of other scientists... Google it.)
                  - The supervolcano that currently lies dormant under Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming has entered “the red zone” and is due to erupt sometime within the next 200,000 years. That supervolcano's eruption date, however, is unlikely to fall on December 21, 2012.

The prophecies about The End Of The World will never stop till the real End of The World. Which will definitely arrive within 5-6 million years, or so, when the Sun will probably turn into a red giant. If we will still be here, on the earth. If we will not blow up our planet by ourselves long before that.

And that should be, in fact, the end of the Earth, not of the entire World.

Anyone read this book? The Great Hope

I find it fascinating - goes into Bible prophecies in ways I'll bet you've not seen anywhere else. Pretty easy reading, too.

To spend my time coding or no? Hhmmm....

I put it out there with the thought that anyone would find it fascinating, to be honest with you. Maybe I was wrong.

I did point out that it focused on Bible prophecies and not Nostradamus in case that made a difference to anyone.
