  • C++ Template question?

    I'm a beginner at writing C++ codes. I've made some .exe programs and i they all run by the DOS command coming up. Is it possible to instead of having one of those have a template... like lets say a browser like IE or to make a custom made one that you can use?

    If so are there any tutorials on this or simple commands you would use?

    Any help would be greatly appriciated!

    Thanks in advance

    ~Tyler~

    You could probably write a simple window template that other programs can use an instance of.

    i.e
    Code:
    //A class that creates a window and has a method to write to that window
    class window{
      ...
       void printToWindow(&string s)
      {
        //print s in the window rather than to the prompt;
      }
      ...

    };

    int main()
    {
      window w;
      w.printToWindow("Hello World");
    }
    The above example isn't very good in terms of completeness, but a guideline at best.

    I've used QT a few times before for making c++ gui's. It's fairly simple to learn and use, but it will take some time.

    They have many simple example which I'm sure you could modify to suit your needs.
