  • Set "Choose File" popup defaults in XP?

    Does anyone know a way to set default "look in" folder, and view settings (ie Thumbnails, Tiles, List, Details) for the xp "Choose File" popup you get on clicking any "Browse" button?

    Hmm I know it goes to the last folder you were at for the previous browse button. Not sure how to predefine it.

      Yes, like Mr._Aerospace_Eng_ said.
      In some or more programming languages, we can restore the users' preferences so that they don't have to select their previous folders again.

      e.g. In VB.Net

      Code:
      With OpenFileDialog
      .RestoreDirectory = TRUE
      End With
      All of the Windows Users have been experiencing it. Once your preference settings have been tracked, you can't even delete that folder; hence you'll get error 'Process in use'.
