    I am using this code,

    http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/combodescribe.htm

    but i want to make the newly selected pages open up in a frame instead of a new window.

    can anybody help me?

    Change window.location to target the frame you wish the page to open in.
    If you are unsure of how to do this. Try this forums Search Feature. This question has been asked and answered numerous times. I'm sure you can find a post which will walk you thru it.

        hmmm

        What didn't work?

        I'm sure the Search Feature works!

        If you are referring to your attempt on changing the window.location to target the frame. How can someone help you if do not show us how you implemented the script and what it is you tried.

          .

          Oh yes, the Search Feature worked like a charm.

          But eveything i found just told me the same thing, change it to window.location.

          the code I am working with is a little different.

          var selectedopt=document.a294.a969.options[what]
          if (document.getElementById && selectedopt.getAttribute("target")=="newwin")
          window.open(selectedopt.value)
          else
          window.location=selectedopt.value
          }

          if i just were to change the open to location it wouldn't work right.
          :)

            Change both window.open and window.location to target your frame.
