help me please!!!

currently in the process of trying to design a website for my boyfriends band and really struggling! i have no experience and at the moment it's just a matter of trial and error. i've been working on Netscape composer (v 4.6) but whenever i try and insert a html tag from dynamic drive the message "premature close of tag" comes up. can anyone suggest what the solution may be or recommend a better program to try and build the site on. ANY help would be so much appreciated,
