Trying to write a chrome extension

Never done any javascript before but I know the fundamentals of programming.

I want to make a chrome extension that will

check the URL to see if it is on the right site that it should be active on
look for a certain block of text on the page
give the user the option to remove permanently i.e keep the list for the next time they go to the page, (at least until they decide to unremove) certain words on the page.

Don't want to give any more info in case anyone steals it :P

Any help would be appreciated.

So what did you expect? Someone writing the full code for you? This will not happen.

Usually you show what you got and we (try to) help with specific problems.

No I expected someone to maybe point me towards some documentation that would show me how I could do it.
