Help Please!!

Okay i've semi-sorted my previous problem with the DIV's and scrolling, but i need to know how to take text of the end of something i.e. I have the attribute 125px and i want it to be just 125 so that i can add an extra 20 and then add the text "px" to the end and set this as the attribute.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you want to add text to the exsisting text???

Or something else. I don't really understand
