Horizontal scroll bar in multiple list box..

Hello,

I need to have a horizontal scroll bar in a multiple select list box. As I have two columns in my multiple list box and text in one of the columns can be quite long(upto 250 characters). If there is no horizontal scroll bar, then the text gets truncated.

I am wondering if it's possible at all to have a horizontal scroll bar in a multiple select box?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You can not change a select element's property to do this.

The only way around it is to find a JavaScript version of a drop down that you can adjust the properties of it.

I am dynamically creating the multiple select box through Javascript. However, I don't know how to add a horizontal scroll bar to the select box via Javascript.

If you don't set the width of the list box, its width will automatically adjust to the longest option item. So no need for the horizontal scroll bar.

Horizontal scroll bar in multiple list box..

A couple of years ago I saw just what you need. It was a DHTML dropdown menu. They used div tags to simulate option tags. You clicked on it like a normal dropdown and scrolled down to select the option you wanted. If you could find this again you could put your horizontal scrollbar in there by setting the width of the div tag and using overflow:auto; in css to make the scrollbar.
