How does one actually program a forum?

Right... I really need to know how one would program a forum... I can't find any other help...(*softly cries*)

You ain't gonna do it with javascript and I doubt anyone is gonna post the code on here, as it's more than just a small script. You'll need a serverside language, like php and a database is also preferred, but not neccesary
