Long Polling working, however multiple tabs open

Hi,

I have long polling functionality working with Google Desktop Notifications.

However if I have multiple tabs open then the Notification received from the server is duplicated on every tab.

Is there way to prevent this from happening as it should only appear once?

Managed to prevent duplicates from appearing. However I am struggling to prevent the long polling process from happening on every tab that is open. Any help would be great.
