URL identification

Well hello all, it's been a while but good to be around again...
had to re-register but wth...

Here is a problem I'm experiencing ....

if someone types in a new URL in the address line on a webpage, is there any way of retrieving it before the user hits 'enter' and re-locates to the new URL ?

I have searched for an answer on this site and others, but can't find anything.....

I'd appreciate any help folks.... thanks.

there might be a way to catch it onUnload of the page. But that would require the person to be on your site before they leave.
