  • Loading Error

    Hi all I am new here! I just started to learn HTML and therefore i only know the very basic. Need some help here!
    What does it mean when the page has a loading error. The error was :conditional compilation is turned off. What does it mean? It also showed the line and the char.
    Is the error something to do with the coding below?

    if (document.layers) {
    document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); }
    document.onmousedown=click;
    // --> </script>

    </head>
    <NOSCRIPT><!--<BODY>--></NOSCRIPT>
    <body>

    Do you have a link to the page? From first glance it looks like a script tag is missing but if thats not all of the code then the script tag might be elsewhere. What is the script supposed to do?

      This is the page

      www.meowmeowkin.blogspot.com

      My blog entries which were supposed to be on the right hand side are not shown. i am sure the error is not due to blogspot because the error has been persisting for long long time.

      Thanks for ur reply =)

        Okay in this script
        Code:
        <script language="JavaScript"><!--
        // No rightclick script v.2.5
        // (c) 1998 barts1000
        // [email protected]
        //provided free at http://www.lissaexplains.com
        // Don't delete this header!

        var message="Dun Bother"; // Message for the alert box

        // Don't edit below!

        function click(e) {
        if (document.all) {
        if (event.button == 2) {
        alert(message);
        return false;
        }
        }
        if (document.layers) {
        if (e.which == 3) {
        alert(message);
        return false;
        }
        }
        }

        if (document.layers){
        document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN);}
        document.onmousedown=click;// --> </script;">
        You have a ;" in the closing </script> tag, remove ;" and see if it works. In Firefox your page works right, but IE might be thinking that there is no script tag. One more think, I don't think the no right click is worth it, it can be worked around very easily by just disabling javascript or view source among other methods.
