  • Please look at layout!

    I am about to submit a layout to a company for a prelimnary website contract. It is the first one yet I feel it is the best. I need it to look perfect so they can understand what I want done with the layout to the fullest. Here are some basics abotu the project before you see it:

    1) Cannot be with too much graphics because a) needs to be proffessional and b) we are going to have a huge database working with it.

    2) Needs to relate to the company

    3) Must be appealing

    There are more but they simply have nothing to do with the layout. Please make sure that the layout is good, aligns right on all resolutions, is appealing, that the borders extend all the way to 100% and other various comments would be helpful. If you see a problem on the page or have a suggestion, please be specific. For example, I heard that sometimes it will go over 100%. If you also encounter this, please include why it does that by showing me the wroing code and what should be there. Thanks in advance. Coding Forum Rocks!

    Site Layout

    Sorry about that, I thought I put it in. Remember that its just a layout so dont complain when you dont see much. Our boss said dont do too much cause they can just reject us at any time or just wont like the layout.

      FYI bout the layout I did. The card on the top left is the logo. I did the banners the same color that came from the logo. Just to make sure you guys get it.

        Not really much to comment on, maybe you can fill it with fake content, just to see what it would look like?

        As you've got no top left or bottom margin, maybe take the right margin off too?

        You might've seen this in almost every post, but please try to not use tables for layouts, it'll save you alot of time when you come to change a template if you use div and css.

        The title graphics doesn't seem to fit in to me, maybe tone the gradient effect down a bit?

        At first I thought the colours were too bright, but when the logo loaded up, it did give me that 'joker' feeling

              Vladdy, lets stop being immature and actually be productive. If not then please leave.

                Ok, the images do work, I just don't like the look of the title image.

                You might want to learn css and xhtml at http://www.w3schools.com which will help you do designs alot easier.

                Add this into the header of your page
                Code:
                <style type="text/css">
                body{
                    margin:0px;
                    padding:0px;
                    background-color:#fff;
                    color:#000;
                }
                </style>
                and then you can take out the

                leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" bgcolor="white"

                from the body tag

                  He's not going to like that....

                  The colours are very tacky and un-professional. Why is everyone getting their colour schemes from Lego these days!!!??

                  I take no responsibility for the above nonsense.

                    Alright I think I need to clarify some things so I can get better results from you guys.

                    1) I forgot to mention this but the title image is just to show them where it will be. I have no intention of using it.

                    2) MY main concern right now is the resolution and the alignment. If there is a scroll bar or if the banners dont go all the way, then there is a problem. Please check it out on all the resolutions.

                    3) I understand the CSS and I will try it. Tell me about how it is with tables first and tell me the reasons for changing other then easier to edit.

                      You post crap for review and expect what?
                      Do you know that tables are supposed to be used for tabular data not for a simple layout?
                      As far as leaving goes, why don't you do that and come back when you have something decent to show.

                        I ask everyone to disregard Vladdy's statements of immaturity and straight out stupid comments. I suggest putting him on your ignore list as I have. WIth that said, lets get back with what is at hand.

                          Potato - As I said in someone else's post for a website they were expecting to get paid to do........I just can't believe with the massive competition for web design at INSANELY low prices, that people at your level of WB knowledge even think they will last.

                          First of all, regarding the layout graphically:

                          1. The logo is WAY to big
                          2. The top banner color should be as thick as the side. Same size
                          3. A massive red banner looks like a massive POS. Who cares if you match the colors in the card - there's plenty of other colors in the card in the first place, secondly matching colors is not a goal
                          4. You have to add more to the menu than just words in a column
                          5. Your "template" says nothing about where your content will be. If you're throwing words into the white space it'll look like vomit on a tile floor.

                          In terms of the coding...

                          1. It seems nobody these days keeps up with how to do decent coding. There is one word which describes the evolution of coding.

                          ECONOMICAL.

                          Although vladdy may or may not be an *** (I have no idea) his comment was stated simply that your coding ability is subpar.

                          One can get better coding from a free geocities account.

                          There is a reason many people on this forum who have a hell of a lot of knowledge stilll do not even make money of their WB or coding otherwise.

                          I think Vladdy made a comment in the other persons post that was to the affect that: "How do you expect us to just evaluate your single site when we find you to be incompetent to even be attempting to have a WB business in the first place."

                          I second that.

                          If it wasn't Vladdy it might as well been; He, like me, is about as candid as a Paris Hilton video...

                            MysteryMan: That was way harsh, but for (probably) the first time, I totally agree w/ you.

                            Sorry Potato, but if you try to write off someone with far superior skills to your own, do you really think that the rest of us will take you seriously?

                            I take no responsibility for the above nonsense.

                              Thank you MysteryMan for your comments. You at least explained youyrself and I respect that. Even though I do not agree with you, at least it gives me something to question myself. It is better then a rolling the eys smiley. I will look into everything u said.

                              I AM ASKING EVERYONE TO PLEASE CHECK ALL REZ AT THIS TIME AND MAKE SURE BANNERS WORK ON HORO AND VERTICAL SIDES. THIS IS OF TOP PRIORITY AT THE MOMENT. ONCE WE GOT THAT, WE WIL LGET TO THE REST.
