  • code for 2nd hotspotted image(top one), disables links in lower one [on same page]

    Cavet: 1. I am not a programmer, in any sense, but I'm really good at cutting, copying and pasting...
    2. this is in a Sharepoint 2010 page...

    I’m using hotspotted images.gif for the nav bar up top and and a map image below on the page.

    My challenge is that the embedded links on the map images [lower part] worked fine….Until I pasted in the code for the nav bar, above it…

    Once I did that the nav bar links all work fine, but now the lower body image still displays, but the embedded links do not work ?

    I’m thinking that there is something in between the code for the nav bar and the main body, that is missing, or not removed… ?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    ‘TopNavBarSubPages’ Code*: I just pasted this in above the Terrain code below, leaving one empty line; but as you can imagine, when I go back in the Pages HTML editor, the code is all squished together with no formatting…

      Hi there Todd1958,

      and a warm welcome to these forums.

      We cannot really help you, without the images in question.

      Can you give them to us?

      Also note that the "map elements" require unique ids.

        I'm thinking that I need to seperate the coding for the nav bar image and the maps, as they independantly work fine. I'll try one in a SP Media Content web part.

        Thx.

          Hi there Todd1958

          Why have you not given us the two images as suggested?

          Why have you not given the "map elements" unique ids as suggested?

            Hi there Todd1958

            If you did not understand what I meant by unique ids, then this may help...

            "TopNavBarSubPages"
            Code:
            [color=navy]
               <img src="http://abc.com/6-TopNavBarSubPages.GIF" usemap="[color=red]#image-map-topnav[/color]">

               <map id="[color=red]image-map-topnav[/color]" name="[color=red]image-map-topnav[/color]">
            [/color]
            "Terrain" (Map):
            Code:
            [color=navy]
               <img src=" http:// abc.com /DATE_Pixuse%20me/DATE_Maps_Selection.GIF" [color=red]usemap="#image-map-terrain[/color]">

               <map id="[color=red]image-map-terrain[/color]" name="[color=red]image-map-terrain[/color]">
            [/color]
