CSS images wont show up in dreamweaver

My CSS seems to show up there, but now when I open my index file in dreamweaver the css doesnt show up correctly, its has the background and stuff but none of the dropshadows, ornaments, special shading in the boxes that say: read more / and past issues....can someone tell me what i am doing wrong? im fairly new to CSS but i never had a problem with the old website....(the company wanted to use this template that was a free download, seems to look good, but CSS is kinda weird) I can include screenshots of my DW if you need me to.

I'm not sure I'm seeing your issues. Can you elaborate on which style rules are not "working"? Maybe even post a screenshot of what you see and what you should see.
