Hello everyone.
I am really in need of someones help. I'm just learning how to code, but I have managed to code a small site that validates (which I'm quite proud of.) My problem is that when I view it in IE8 the CSS sprite images I have setup do not work. The first time I went to the site they were there, but upon revisiting the site the sprites completely disappear and flickr if you roll over them. Additionally, my entire menu is shifted to the right significantly. I have another menu under my "about" section that also uses CSS sprites and those too disappear. My footer is also not looking correct. However, I have managed to create an IE specific style sheet to address that issue and have since fixed it (haven't uploaded that stylesheet yet though.)
I've now read the CSS sprites usually disappear in IE? If that is the case then I would like to ONLY change it so my CSS Sprites are used in everything but IE and I'd like to just create normal text buttons like I have on my footer, since I know that those do in fact work.
Here is the link to my site:

I've tried putting IE tags in the HTML for IE only and tried to recreate the menu there, but I can't get it to work.
Can someone help me please?
Thanks in advance...
EDIT: I happen to have access to a friends Mac and checked the site on Safari 4.0.2 and found that I have the same problem as I do in IE8. Why does the footer load correctly and everything lines up perfectly, but as soon as you revisit it and even refresh it the menu becomes all messed up with multiple font sizes and everything mis-aligned??
