IE dropping gallery from right under left side

I've been working on this site for the past week and just learned that the gallery is dropping in IE8.

I've tried resizing the gallery smaller which it is now and also changing the container size thinking it was because everything inside it were bigger than I specified and pushed it to the bottom. Didn't work.

I need to have this finished for a class and don't know what the problem is.

Have a look at http://bonrouge.com/2c-hf-fixed.php, to see how to make an easy 2 column layout. You don't have to apply widths and floats to both columns, which may cause box model bug in IE.
