  • Safari refreshes on back and forward button??

I am building a website that has links that open in the same tab. When I hit the back button my webpage refreshes. I do not want it to refresh. One way around this would be to just open all links in another tab or window but I don't want to do that. Any suggestions??

I tried meta content="cache".... that did not work
This only seems to be happening in Safari's browser not Firefox or IE or Opera

Never faced this problem. It always seemed to me that browser does not refresh the page on back and forward button click. Only happens when there are redirect code, or any other type of code that makes browser refresh the page.

It refreshes when it isn't allowed to cache the page (as indicated by the HTTP headers, not any meta element).
