  • Underlined Links

    Did a forum search and could not find an answer.

    I do not want my links underlined. How do I make them links without underlines?

    Thank you in advance.

    Try this in your head section

    <style type="text/css">
    a{
    text-decoration:none;
    }
    </style>
    The silent one.

        if you want you can also define tons of other things using css also - like making your links underlined only when the user hovers over the link... some basic link css is below.... hope it helps!

        Code:
        <style type="text/css">
        a:link {
        	font-family: "Trebuchet MS";
        	font-size: 12px;
        	font-style: normal;
        	color: #0000FF;
        	text-decoration: none;
        }
        a:visited {
        	font-family: "Trebuchet MS";
        	font-size: 12px;
        	font-style: normal;
        	color: #0000FF;
        	text-decoration: none;
        }
        a:hover {
        	font-family: "Trebuchet MS";
        	font-size: 12px;
        	font-style: normal;
        	color: #FF0000;
        	text-decoration: underline;
        }
        a:active {
        	font-family: "Trebuchet MS";
        	font-size: 12px;
        	font-style: normal;
        	color: #0000FF;
        	text-decoration: none;
        }
        </style>
        what that does is make all your links blue without an underline but when you put your mouse over it it turns red with an underline.

        or if you want you can just save that file as a .css without the "<style type="text/css> and </style>" and then insert this into all your webpages you want it to apply to...

        Code:
        <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
        and adjust the style.css to your file and voila! now you only need to change one file and your whole site will match!

          Keep in mind efficiency. The following is equivalent to scriptz' code:
          Code:
          <style type="text/css">
            a {
              color: blue;
              font: normal 12px "Trebuchet MS", Helvetica, sans-serif;
              text-decoration: none;
              }
            a:hover {
              color: red;
              text-decoration: underline;
              }
          </style>

              thank you all!

              I am still new to the CSS.

              Last time I tried it, it only made me confused. So I am trying it again.

              Thank you for the help and link. I will most definately give it all a try. I do appreciate the help.
