  • Firefox shows padding well but IE doesn't?

    Hi.

    My CSS code:
    Code:
    .menulink, .menulinkhover {
      border: 1px solid #FFFFFF;
      margin-bottom: 1px; padding-left:10px; padding-right:8px; padding-top:2px; padding-bottom:2px
    }

    .menulink {
      background: #F1F3F5; padding-left:10px; padding-right:8px; padding-top:2px; padding-bottom:2px
    }

    .menulinkhover {
      background: #CCFF55; padding-left:10px; padding-right:8px; padding-top:2px; padding-bottom:2px
    }
    Firefox shows the padding well but IE doesn't. What's wrong?

    No one knows the answer? Is this really too hard for experts?

    Please try just copy pasting my code and make <div class="menulink">asdas</div> and see how they are different in Firefox and IE...

      No but something you need to understand is YOU aren't the only person that needs help. Sometimes threads get overlooked. I personally don't really respond to to many threads where the OP is impatient which is exactly what you are. Why are you using a div if its a link?
      Code:
      <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
      <html>
      <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
      <title>Untitled Document</title>
      <style type="text/css">
      html, body {
      margin:0;
      padding:0;
      border:0;
      background:#FFF;
      font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
      font-size:0.9em;
      }
      a.menulink, a.menulink:link, a.menulink:visited {
      border:1px solid #FFF;
      margin-bottom:1px;
      padding:2px 8px 2px 10px;
      background:#F1F3F5;
      display:block;
      text-decoration:none;
      color:#000;
      }
      a.menulink:hover {
      background:#CF5;
      color:#000;
      }
      </style>
      </head>

      <body>
      <a href="#" class="menulink">asdas</a>
      </body>
      </html>

        Hi

        I have a 'table looking' menu on the left side of my page. There is are a few rows and each row has mouse hover color change. So it's some like a menu. The div tag around the menulinks will make a css table around it and padding also. The table/border is working fine, but the padding is strange for some reason...

          I posted some code in my previous post, take a look at it. You might want to post the rest of your html. That is probably why you didn't get an answer in the first place. Help us help you. Give us as much information as possible. Don't make us guess.
