  • linking an image to another website

i am trying to post a slideshow of my art on myspace either from photobucket or slide.com and i want someone to be able to click on it and be directly linked another webpage where i sell my art in an online gallery (not the photohosting site!). i am clueless and looking to a forum that knows about this stuff. i know it must be the easiest thing but not for me, it's like speaking a foreign language. please help and try to explain it simply, i really am in the dark here! thank you kindly.

Depends on what you need to be clicked on, but for the most part it's the anchor tag:

    Code:
<a href="http://website.com"><!-- what you click on goes here --></a>
Post your existing code if you need more help…

what do you mean existing code? you want the code for the slideshow or for where i want it linked to? or both? told you, i am clueless! but i really don't want to post the codes on a forum permanently either. can't you just make one up hypothetically?

        I just did, it's above.

I'm sorry, but most of us lack mind-reading skills. You need to provide more info if you need help; either the HTML/CSS/Javascript code that inserts the slideshow, or a link to the page in question will help.

          <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://w38.photobucket.com/pbwidget.swf?pbwurl=http://w38.photobucket.com/albums/e124/sandymama314/1159821390.pbw" height="120" width="400"></embed>

          above is the photobucket code

and here is the one i want viewers to be able to be linked to when clicking on the slideshow:

          http://www.yessy.com/nadeaneamey/abs...l?r=1560505240

can you put it all together?

well i cut and paste the code into the myspace editor and it didn't work. when you click on the photobucket slideshow it still takes you to photobucket not to yessy.com. i don't know

A Flash/Shockwave object has the link built into the its code. As far as I know there's no real way to circumvent it.

but i saw someone on myspace with a photobucket slideshow and i clicked on it and it took me to their ebay. there has to be a way to do it. i asked the person but i guess they are too busy to respond.
