  • CSS and FireFox

    Hello all,

    I have a little issue with the CSS that I have created and that is that it doesn't produce the same results for FireFox as it does for IE, for example:

    default td works in both FF, IE and others:
    td {
    font-family: Verdana;
    font-size: 9pt;
    color: #339900;
    }

    non-default one only shows effect in IE, is ignored in FF
    td.style1 {
    font-family: Verdana;
    font-size: 9pt;
    color: #FF0000;
    font-weight: bold;
    }

    Is there a list somewhere that shows the different options to use between different browsers (or on the short term, does anyone know how to set the non-default one up for firefox)?

    Thanks,
    twomt

    Without seeing the rest of the code it's hard to guess, but for the most part you can count on Firefox doing what's right. It has much better standards support than IE. The general recommended way to style markup is to target a standards-compliant browser like Firefox first, then apply fixes for IE afterward.

      Both of your CSS samples are valid and should work in both browsers. The problem must be somewhere else in your code; if you provide it maybe someone can solve the problem for you.
