    Looking for idea how to have 2+ flags 16x16 where it would be obvious that they are in fact option buttons (one selected, others not, select another - all other auto deselected).
    Whatever I came up with it turns out that user would think: one is selected, the other are disabled - unavailable.
    Anyone seen anything like that anywhere ?

    if you don't spot search button at once, there is search form:

    What about the obvious: a radio button like interface? Like, you have empty circles for unselected options and a filled circle for the selected one?

        That requires text I think. If one removes text then we are at my idea. Images of flags only.
        Also original radio button with no text + flag image is kind of ugly.
        Hmm - if I replace text with image icons at example here:

        and put green check mark to selected , that looks like near ...

              Why not just buttons?

                use css to fade the inactive a bit.
                soemthing like this:

                style.css
                PHP Code:
                .flagholder{position:relativefloat:left;}
                a.inactiveFlag{position:absolutetop:0pxleft:0pxwidth:100%; height:100%; background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0.5); cursor:pointer;}
                .
                clear{clear:both;}
                HTML
                PHP Code:
                <div class="flagholder"><a href="mydomain.com?changelanguage=1><img src="myactiveflag.gif" title="whatevercountry"></a></div>
                <div class="
                flagholder"><img src="inactiveflag1.gif" title="whatevercountry2"><a class="inactiveFlag" href="mydomain.com?changelanguage=2>&nbsp;</a></div>
                <
                div class="flagholder"><img src="inactiveflag2.gif" title="whatevercountry3"><class="inactiveFlag" href="mydomain.com?changelanguage=3>&nbsp;</a></div>
                <div class="
                flagholder"><img src="inactiveflag3.gif" title="whatevercountry4"><a class="inactiveFlag" href="mydomain.com?changelanguage=4>&nbsp;</a></div>
                <
                div class="flagholder"><img src="inactiveflag4.gif" title="whatevercountry5"><class="inactiveFlag" href="mydomain.com?changelanguage=5>&nbsp;</a></div>
                <div class="
                clear"></div>
                Just change to whatever language it is by using php ($_GET['changelanguage']);
