  • Review my portfolio

    Hey Guys,

I was wondering if you could review the initial portfolio design I made. I'm still hoping to fit in a social networking bar on the left but I'm unsure if there's enough space. Also I'm really in doubt about the typography. This is what's I'm really unsure of so I would appreciate some feedback on that. I know it's far from operational but I'd like some feedback in this stage.

    thanks in advance
    Danny

The site is nice, but I agree, I don't think there's enough room on the left for a social networking bar. By typography, I assume the font? For a portfolio site, you have some leeway to let a little personality out with different fonts than what's normally used.

It's almost impossible to read with images turned off.
Having said that, I've probably told you more than I know.

        Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I decided that in the end I actually disliked the design and came up with a new one. Now I would appreciate some feedback on the design image before I start coding it together. Would save me a lot of time.

I must say, the concept image of the portfolio site is very nice. It is exactly what I look for in a site, it's clean, whilst still remaining professional.

Just to be picky, your Contact area in the Footer doesn't have any form of visible submit function. Another minor suggestion is the current page, which is 'Home', a color differentiation from the original black may be a nice additive - From a User perspective.

Other than that, that concept looks great. I would love to see a finished, working product.

Will agree with MrConman, portfolio image looks pretty good, yet clean and simple without any unnecessary overloaded things. Color theme is nice as well.

When it coms to this kind of site, keeping it clean and simple is the way forward. you only have to look at the Apple website to see their idea of what works - and they seem to have got something right!

                Hey guys,

Well guys I've been working on my portfolio site lately and here's a little sneak preview of the homepage. Unfortunately I haven't had too much time so progress is very slow. I was wondering what you guys think. I really dislike the boxes with the vid and stuff and I need an alternative for that.

                grtz

Mathew, nice site. but it kinda loads slow, and everything is too much compressed. dont you think? just suggesting to make it a little loose.

Starting to look really good now. It is loading a little slow though. I'm not sure if this is due to image optimization or your actual web server isn't overly fast.
you've managed to get the structure very similar to you're mock up design image which is good to see. Nice work.
