    .webs Site review :)

    Hey, I just wanted to show my site to some people and see what they thought.
    I have knowledge of Basic HTML and CSS.
    I got the default template off a website and edited it's features to my liking.
    I have also added some javascripts I have found on some sites into the page.

    If you have any suggestions or comments on my site then feel free to post them, Either positive or negative is okay.

    Is this one of your first sites you've done? Reminds me of one of my first ones about 10 years ago, which is why I asked.

    If you want an honest opinion, I'd get rid of the moving text, the hit counter etc. It's old school. The coding is a mess, but that's to be expected anyway when you're learning and copy/pasting things - you'll learn as you go along. The flashing links too when you mouseover them, I thought it was my PC running low on memory at first until I noticed they blinked.

    What is the site about? Or is it just something you're using to learn on?

      I agree with Nightfire the constant changing colours, moving words and hit count could get very irritating. But other than that i enjoyed it.

        yeah, it's a bit old fashioned.
        will suggest to bring in some fresh and up-to-date options. Something like "wow' should be definitely placed.

          It is a site that I am using to learn and test everything. Im also trying to get some of my friends to go on it because most sites that allow chatting and games are blocked at my school. I am trying to make as appealing as possible to people.
          I thank you for your opinions on the moving text, the hit counters and the flashing links. I thought when I put them into the site that they may be a bit over the top and annoying. I will remove them right now and if you have any more suggestions please tell me. (:
          Also, do you think this site is good at an amateur point of view?
          I am only 13 and just started learning html and css about 2 months ago.

            And yes it is my first site i've actually taken time to do stuff and learned coding.
            I had a previous site but it had a terrible design and no custom anything.

              Its not bad for starters. You can consider using CMS like joomla or wordpress and take advantage of loads of modules and plugins

                  As a first site I like this, however at times the purple text is hard to read and the background images and colours are a little distracting. I like how you offer a chat box as well as forums and some games.

                    Are you referring to the purple and pink links that are hard to read?
                    What colours are you referring to that is distracting?
                    I will also keep in mind that the background image is distracting.
                    I try to offer the people that go on my site the most that I get can get that I know of and I find the chatbox very useful just for a place to communicate besides the forums.
                    Also about the arcade, I haven't updated that in a while so I will get on it!

                      Hi Sam, the main distracting colour I was referring to is the red in the background on the first page, it drags my eye away from the text. Also, I find the banner to be a bit bright compared to the darkness of the rest of the site. Other than that, it looks like a really good way to stay connected with your friends

                        I really like the basic concept behind this site, it would be a great way to keep in contact with friends when other chats and games at your school may be blocked.

                              Hi Sam, well done on your site and I'm glad that's it's working the way you planned. I wish I'd had something like this to chat to friends on when I was at school, but I was stuck passing notes the old fashioned way Way to go!
