  • Replacement for frames and more

    Hi guys,

I have just upgraded my account from a personal account to a professional account at brinkster.com. This means I can now use ASP/ASP.NET/PHP..etc. So I wandered if any of you knew a replacement for frames as my site looks very amateur at the moment and I plan to make huge changes. By that I mean so the top logo and links/buttons are on the same page, and when the user scrolls down the top bar isn't fixed, so it acts the same as this website: http://www.mxtabs.net/guitartabs.php

Also I have noticed a lot of websites use outlining borders around their whole site like this one does:

    http://www.rallye-info.com/ and this one: http://www.mxtabs.net/guitartabs.php

How can I have that instead of the layout I have on my current site? Is there a web control or some other function I can use to have this?

Because I am a begginner to ASP.NET I find it all a bit overwhelming and don't know exactly where to start. Do you have any suggestions?

And help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks a lot,

The PHP part allows the site to be "dynamic", where the content can be
easily altered, and changing based on a database of news items, files,
    and other information.

The "look" of the website is CSS Style Sheets. And the site is rendered
    as <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/DTD/html4-transitional.dtd">

Before even learning about PHP, get some good books on CSS (XHTML),
    and start using it.
