How can my webpage validate if angelfire puts a whole bunsh of non-validating adds in it?

Is there a way to "cancel out" these adds for the validator?
I know my page validates because when I run it from my harddrive into the validator, it does. But as soon as it is on the web, the adds stop it from validating.

Well, if Angelfire adds non-valid code to your documents, they SHOULD not validate. The user agents doesn't filter out the Angelfire code when parsing the document, so why should the validator? Remember that it is the end-document that should be checked for validity.

It is just something you'll have to live with until you get off Angelfire.

Sorta like liorean said, if you could filter it out then you could for the user agent and not see the ads or whatever.

I don't agree - validation is not about flag-waving or showing other developers what a good job you've done. Validation is about making interpoperable pages. It doesn't matter that it's not your fault - fault is not the point.

Ditch angelfire; use someone else. That's my suggestion.

I've never seen a compliant ad script. There's always a script tag or comments outside the HTML, capital tags, unquoted values, etc. I don't see what the big problem would be for them to update their html in the ads. Afterall, HTML has always been forward compatible and the updated syntax will improve their compatibilty on browsers, not hinder it. I hope there comes a browser that is built just for speed and will intentionally ignore tags that are in the wrong places. Maybe it wouldn't gain much of an audience on the web, but I'd love it for debugging purposes.

Anyway, I recommend Angelfire over Tripod since Tripod has a 2 banners and a pop-under that will respawn on exit for each page. Freewebs is ad-free but you'll have to login to your account atleast once between a 60-day interval or your account will go down.
