directory files for include only

I'd like to protect a directory from being accessed, but would like the files in the directory to be able to be included into other files (via php). Is this possible?

Keep the include files in a folder below root - then you can include them, but not access them directly with a web address.

If you can't do that you can always use .htaccess if you are on an Apache web server.

indeed - or put a blank file called "index.html" in the folder with the other files, so there's no directory listing.
