  • Menu/graphics not aligning to top of page

    Can someone look at this link:

    And tell me why there is a blank white line at the top of the page?

    I've tried setting the top margin to 0, but the menu then sits right in the middle of my graphic. As it is, it doesn't look real hot in Netscrap 7.

    And please, don't dog on me for not using CSS "properly" and having the nerve to use tables . I did not do the site originally, but have only recently begun to update it--beginning with the homepage here, and a few other tweaks. I have not had a chance to re-write the thing the way it should be done.

    Could this evil little chunk of code have anything to do with it?
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="171" height="26" border="0"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="146" height="26" border="0"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="99" height="26" border="0"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="40" height="26" border="0"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="75" height="26" border="0"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="60" height="26" border="0"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="26" border="0"></td>

    I take no responsibility for the above nonsense.

      Actually, that is evil.

      I had to do that though, because the menu that I'm using was fixated in a certain spot, and I'm unable to figure out how to move it....so I spaced the main part of the page down further to get under it. Fireworks automatically inserts a 1 pix spacer row. I bumped it up to 26 to work around the menu. I'd like to just ditch it instead of creating a dirty workaround to get around another issue.

      Thanks for looking at it, though.

        Add this in the header

        <style type="text/css">
        margin-top: 0 none;

          No dice. I tried it, and it gives the same results as if I had just put a topmargin = 0 in the body tag. It pushes the body up against the white line nicely...but it still has a white line.

          I think it probably has something to do with the dhtml menu I've got. I can post the source code for that, if anyone would care to take a look.

          I appreciate you looking at it.
