The future of web design

I am a newbie. I wonder, will it be reached a point in time when web design will be fully automated by a designing program which will be used by people with no skill, this way web designers becoming obsolete. I mean using a program where you click various buttons to create and edit text, images, to put links, etc. like you create and edit a document in MS Word for example. (I may be wrong but I did read that WYSIWYG is something of the sort.)

Packages of such kind are already available with many wyswyg web designing tools. Also, there are 1000s of templates both free and paid are available in the market. Still the challenge will designing and building the websites with SEO features and sucessfully marketing the site will be the challenge for the future web designers.

Web designers will never become obsolete because custom requirements require custom solutions that no program can handle all by itself. Of course, if you just want a simple, generic website for average Joe’s cat, there are services and programs for that but this is never gonna happen with serious companies/projects.

Designing a full blown website is more than just pushing a few buttons, it requires thoughts in advance about the target audience, site structure, usability, functionality, and then a custom graphical design that accompanies the concept can never be done by an automated program. And as I said: custom requirements require custom solutions and approaches which only humans are able to handle.

no matter how advance technology goes, human being intelligence will always be needed so as long as web designing exist, it will always requires human efforts

Because human beings are so changeable, machines will never be able to keep up with us.

Hey newbie i hope that the future of web design is bright because all clients need custom website and custom navigation which software can't able to do it automatically.

The question is whether the human will have to be an expert or just an unskilled user using a powerful software.

Define expert...lol When I was in high school, people who worked on and or with computers were considered experts. Now kids learn to use computers around the same time the are learning to walk. I'm sure to them computers are such common place that ANYONE who can operate a computer is just normal and not expert at all.

The point being, as with anything, yesterday's experts are todays unskilled workers....lol

Isn't that the truth! And what's even scarier is realizing that the babies that are teething on computers will one day be unskilled workers too!

Teed is right to quite an extent. It's impossible to replace Human Beings & presence of mind is of so much importance besides the intelligence, which machines have but not how to use that intelligence.

If so, they will all remain alive . Machines will never be able to build professional websites from A to Z, same as they will never be able to create poems or paintings entirely by themselves.

Not in danger, but ever evolving! Old technologies die out, new ones are created every day it seems. The real danger for web designers/developers is not learning and evolving WITH the new technologies. That's when a coder might become obsolete.
