I have a .avi on my site but - after uploading to the internet - it won't play.
I assume this is due to me not waiting for it to load.

On the pc it plays automatically, I assume on the internet it needs to load all of it before playing, and it is quite big.

Any suggestions as to what I am best doing? Should I try and alter the size of the video - or go with my current thought of scrapping the idea of having a video clip on there?

    Thanks

The clip in question can be found by clicking on the image at the bottom of this page

Just a simple suggestion; make sure the file exists where you think it is. Also, try using the complete URL to call it, not ../../../../../../../../../Iam/Lost.asp

It does exist and the path is correct (well it did, seems to be down right now), the file is just very large. There's no way to avoid the size / download problem as anyone who wishes to view the avi file, must first download it.

I'm not sure what your options might be with regard to compressing the .avi file. You might be able to convert the file to an mpeg, but it's still likely to be too large to be practical for dial-up connections. I personally didn't view the avi because of the download time, but if your intended audience has a particular interest, such as friends who are in the avi, they're more likely to wait for the download to view the avi .

You could always use a streaming format, wmv or asf (Try to stay away from asf).
